Summer Season 2019

The 2019 Summer Season will begin on Sunday, June 2nd and will end on Thursday, August 29th. Please note that our summer season has a limited capacity due to lane availability at the outdoor pools. At this time, we are only accepting registrations from CURRENT Regular Season (September 2018-May 2019) members!  On May 23rd, registration will be open to everyone.

We will be swimming at Queen Elizabeth and Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pools (6 lanes, 25m) three times a week:

  • Sunday Mornings @ Fred Broadstock – 9:15-10:45am
  • Tuesday Evenings @ Queen Elizabeth – 7:00-8:30pm
  • Thursday Evenings @ Queen Elizabeth – 7:00-8:30pm

This year we will once again offer 3 levels of membership:

  • 13 sessions for $135 (also known as once a week)
  • 2 times a week for $205
  • 3 times a week for $265

If you were not previously registered with EMSC during the 2018-2019 Regular Season, you will have to pay an additional $54.00 fee to be registered with Swim Alberta (a requirement for all swimmers).  This fee is in addition to the above training fees.

To register, please complete the Summer Swimming 2019 Online Registration Forms. Payment may be submitted via e-transfer or by cheque (details in online registration forms).  Payment MUST BE RECEIVED prior to your participation in any summer workouts.  Please remember that registration is on a first come (WITH PAYMENT), first served basis, and NO REFUNDS are offered for Summer Season swimming!

Weather Cancellation Policy for Outdoor Workouts

Please note that EMSC is not yet capable of controlling the weather. Watch for email or check the EMSC website/Facebook/Twitter for cancellation notices, which will be posted no later than 30 minutes before a cancellation.

Despite the fact that the City cancels public swimming at outdoor pools when the temperature dips below 18 degrees, our outdoor swim practices are a “GO” on these cooler days. And we swim in the rain, too! The only time we don’t swim is if there is lightning in the area. The rule is that no one can enter the pool within a half hour of pool staff hearing thunder.
