2026 Summer Season

The 2026 EMSC Summer Season will once again return to the outdoor pools and is anticipated to  take place from Monday, June 1 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. We will also have the opportunity to register for two morning swims/week.

The City has confirmed that our outdoor pool time won’t start until June 28th so we will be continuing with our Monday & Wednesday evening pool time as well as our Sunday pool time at Kinsmen until we can access the outdoor pool.

Registration will open later in April. It will first open to TRAINING members fully registered as of March 31, 2026 (SWIMMING CANADA registration). After a week it will then open up to associate and newly registered members. After three weeks it will open to all if space is still remaining.

As with last summer, we will be offering two indoor morning swims (there is no outdoor morning pool time). This will be a separate session from the outdoor pool times.

We are limited to a maximum of 36 swimmers per outdoor session as per the City of Edmonton and we will close registration once we are full.

Your registration will not be guaranteed until payment is received in full!

Weather Cancellation Policy for Outdoor Workouts

Please note that EMSC is not yet capable of controlling the weather. Watch for email or check the EMSC website for cancellation notices, which will be posted no later than 30 minutes before a cancellation (if possible).

Despite the fact that the City cancels public swimming at outdoor pools when the temperature dips below 18 degrees, our outdoor swim practices are a “GO” on these cooler days. And we swim in the rain, too! We are not able to swim during a thunderstorm; the rule is that no one can enter the pool within a half hour of pool staff hearing thunder. Outdoor swim practices may also be cancelled in the event of an air quality advisory.
