Records and Rankings

While snow fell in Edmonton on Saturday, November 2, several club members were involved in a blizzard of record-breaking swims at the Winskill Ottermania long course meet in Richmond, BC. Congratulations to Susan Chafe, Debbie Younger, Barry Saretsky, and Barry Lewis who set a total of 16 new club records, 7 of which are also Alberta records! The Records and Rankings page has been updated accordingly.

If you notice that a club record hasn’t been updated correctly, please send an email to records@edmontonmasters.org and we’ll get it fixed!

How to become a Swim Alberta Official

Several people have asked me how they can become certified as an official with Swim Alberta so as to fulfill duties other than timing.

There are several ways to get certification. For several positions, you can do an e-learning clinic on your own time. Some more involved positions require a self-directed clinic/learning plan. If you prefer to learn in a classroom environment, occasionally clubs will host in-person officials clinics.

Take a look at the following link to see how you can become certified as an official, including signing up for clinics, or down-loading e-learning modules.
